Today we announced that Juniper Networks has selected the Typesafe Stack, including both the Scala language and Akka middleware, for use in future Juniper software technologies. The agreement includes a multi-year agreement for software licenses (including the Typesafe Console), support, maintenance, training, and consulting.
We think this commitment by Juniper is an exciting validation for Typesafe, and the broader Akka and Scala communities.

In addition to this Juniper announcement, we recently announced the Mark Brewer has joined Typesafe as CEO, coming from VMware/SpringSource; Typesafe was named to Gartner’s Cool Vendors in Application Development 2012; we hosted a sold-out Scala Days 2012 conference in London; and we released the Typesafe Stack 2.0 featuring Akka 2.0 and Play web framework 2.0.
